Popcorn Ball Ornaments

Like decorations stolen from Willy Wonka’s Christmas party, these ornaments are meant to be eaten. For a fun party activity, have children decorate their own.

For homemade popcorn balls, try this recipe.

Ingredients
Small popcorn ball (one for each guest)
Mini candy canes
Colored sugar
Frosting
Mini M&M’s

Instructions
You’ll need a small popcorn ball for each person (ours are store-bought and about 3 inches wide). Use a wooden skewer to poke a small hole in the top, snap the end off of a mini candy cane to create a point, and gently press the sharp end of the cane into the popcorn ball far enough to make a loop, as shown.

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Handprint

Instructions
To assemble one, first use a pencil to trace your child’s hand onto a piece of brown craft foam or card stock.

Cut out the shape and add black marker hooves to the fingertips.

Next, add a red glitter glue collar with gold sequins for bells, then glue on a googly eye, a red pom-pom nose, and a tail cut from the brown craft foam or card stock.

For the reindeer’s antlers, cut a brown pipe cleaner in half. Bend each half in two (slightly off-center) and curl the ends. Glue together the pipe cleaner pieces, holding them in place with a paper clip or clothespin until the glue dries. Finally, glue the antlers in place on the reindeer.
